Proactive Monitoring.

 

We have developed a product that provides an enhanced view onto the standard IBM Performance Tools licensed program output, giving you a more precise picture of how your system copes with changes in workloads. Our Key Performance Indicator (KPI) utilities allow you to:

 

  • Manage performance data retention and archiving
  • View, print and e-mail compact graphical charts of performance data over an extended period
  • View memory contention between private and shared pools over time
  • Pinpoint the relationship between key peaks and troughs in performance relative to:
    • Disk activity
    • CPU activity by job-type
    • Page faulting
    • Pool sizes
    • Response times
    • Interactive job counts
    • IOP saturation

 

Application and communications analysis.

 

For those more specific performance issues, we will analyse individual job trace data to build a response profile based on a fixed time-line – this allows you to see and compare the key points during an a number of  test iterations where there are excessive I/O requests, looping invocations, idle-times etc.

 

With High Availability and becoming more widespread within the AS/400, iSeries and i5 marketplace, many customers are more concerned with managing the impact this type of product can have on the stability of their LAN and WAN infrastructure. We can assist in providing summary reports and statistics derived from Performance Data and communications traces, to help pinpoint any issues that relate directly to your iSeries communications adapters – equally we are often asked to help clarify that such issues are indeed external to and AS/400, iSeries or i5 system, to help narrow down the scope of fault identification and rectification activities within the LAN/WAN environment.
